At MCL we understand - and have delivered - the benefits that CAD can bring. These are typically in the areas of efficiencies in the sampling and manufacturing phases of the process and many retailers continues to realise those efficiencies.
However, as design and other functions move off-shore, there's an increasing need for retailers still to do their creative designs. MCL works with retailers to enable them to hand over to suppliers digital designs that have value in terms of what can be fed into the manufacturing process.
It does this by supporting the use of desktop design tools such as Adobe Illustrator and helping them to develop their processes to work collaboratively with manufacturers.
MCL also helps retailers to get the most out of the information held about their product designs. This can mean feeding product data management systems or product databases with technical information. Or feeding customer websites and catalogues with product descriptions and fabric information.
